Independence Day

This 4th of July I decided to sit back and just watch the fireworks, instead of trying to capture them. I did get a few images from the festivities leading up to the event however!

In Key West, parking is very...very limited!


I utilized the oppertunity to host a Key West SMUGs group outing for everyone to break out their cameras, and kids!


You get to have the soothing sound of the steel drums playing carribean music non-stop as you enjoy the day.


You could play on our private beach


Play "King of the Bouncy House"


Dress up your parents with shaving cream and cheetos!


Teach dad how to play a new game!


Get your face painted


Do a little rock climbing


Teach mom, to toss bean bags


Or slide down the water chute!


And just before the fireworks show begins, mother nature gave us a show of her own.

Miami Photowalk

I spent a few days in Miami getting to scout locations for an upcoming shoot. I thought I'd share with you some of the Street Scenes in South Beach.

Nothing spectacular, just something to feel up a few minutes while you sit in traffic and look at this blog via smartphones!

I was booked to stay in the beautiful Essex Hotel in South Beach. When I had some free time, I set out for a walk with camera in hand.


I found a spot to play with some depth of field shots.


I avoided the tourists traps very easily.


People love to flash their vehicles, or their rentals.


Two-Toned Maybach...nice


Even the fake ones get flashed as well.


Regardless what you drive, you better be tossing some coins into these guys!


The BEST way to travel South Beach though is on foot, no questions asked.


Whether you are cartoon style artist


or an Architect with an eye for color...Miami is a spot to show off your talent.

The Eaker Girls

Children at the Beach! What a fun time to get out and shoot some candid shots, and ever once in awhile when they look at the camera, it turns out priceless!

When you shoot outdoors, especially at the beach there is ALLOT going on which captures the attention of children.


They like to play in the sand so getting just one of them to look can make some great images.


When you get the both of them to look at the same time, it's almost priceless.


Peekaboo seems to work


Even tickeling them helps!


Regardless what you do, it's what they do that seems to make the day though

Vacation Bible School!

All this week was an outstanding Vacation Bible School put on by the many members of Fifth Street Baptist Church in Key West, FL. (as always, click on the images to see a much bigger photo)

Here is a short slideshow of some of the things that took place.


Countless hours have gone into VBS the way that this church puts it on, and it is unmatched by any other in the Florida Keys. The head of music even teaches the members of VBS all the dance moves to go along with the songs as well.


Whether you had the job of making music, or making people smile. Each one is so important.


The stage was transformed into the New York City Skyline.


Performances were played to perfection by the adults


and the children as well.


Outside you could take a stroll through Central Park, and enjoy everything from the Bronx Burgers, Italian Sausages, 5th Avenue Fruit, Staten Island Sno Cones, Coney Island Ice Cream, and Central Park Popcorn just to name a few!


It was a "must be at" event whether you were young at heart, or young in the legs.


Over 300+ people were in attendance on a nightly basis making it a very successful week.


When all is said & done, this is what it is about!

Wooley Family Session

I had the oppertunity to photograph the Wooley Family here recently. (click on any of the following images to see the video, and/or the photos enlarged.

During the beginning of the session, Calista decided she wanted to get involved with the behind the scenes work of the shoot.

This family is full of fun and it shows in their smiles and the things they do.


Even as the moon came out, they were able to take advantage of it as any couple in love should!

Minimal Regatta Comedy

I recently had the oppertunity to attend the Minimal Regatta in Key West. The rules of this regatta, is that someone can only use (1) sheet of plywood, 1lb of Nails, and Duct Tape! Everything else is pure creativity! Let's let the fun begin!

The crowd was standing room only for this popular event.


Star Trek showed up to represent!


There were unique folks watching.....

and there were unique Sponsors as well, can you guesse who?


The Grim Reaper made an appearance in the USS Armageddon, and even had someone to pull her boots off.


The Grim Reaper definitely one the "best costume" in my mind as their boat even contained a dead body floating from the back of the boat.


It didn't take long before The Grim Reaper began to go down, and was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard.


This caught my eye....


The "cool boat" award went to this guy!


This team won the "best dressed" in my opinion


However, their boat was the quickest to sink!




The Best Overall award had to go to the crew of the USS Minow!




A great day in the sun, and a great day for fun!
